Several good questions have been posed after our Sunday training session. 

• Question: Will an event only start at 9 am or 9 pm even if conditions drastically change? 
• Answer: An "Event" can be called at any time. We will review the situation every 12 hrs at 9 AM or 9 PM to determine whether to continue. Of course this could mean that 6 hr into an event, we have an active watch with weak winds. This isn't ideal but even less ideal is to call off the event and then the wind picks up again a few hours later. That said, we'll see how this all works out. There may be times when it makes sense for the Watch Leader to call off the event even though it's not 9 AM or 9 PM. 

• Question: What do I do if I'm on watch and the Vollmer camera is centered on a fire elsewhere? 
• Answer: You should continue . Try to look at the Canyon from other ALERTWildfire cameras until the Vollmer camera switches back to its default position which IS looking down Canyon. Remember, the camera will return to its default 1 hr after the last movement by fire officials.
